Sea
Buckthorn Fruit Oil (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) 55%
Sea buckthorn fruit oil is an abundant source of both
monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. It contains up to 18% oleic
acid, 3-4.5% alpha-linolenic acid, and 33-38% rare oleopalmitic acid. The
strong antioxidant properties of sea buckthorn oil, especially valued in
cosmetology, are attributed to its flavonoids, phenolic acids, tocopherols, and
carotenoids. The latter, mainly present in the fruit pulp, also provide the oil
with an intensely vibrant color. Due to its rich and diverse compounds with
antioxidant properties, sea buckthorn oil serves as an excellent antioxidant
widely used in anti-aging therapies, mitigating the effects of environmental
stressors on skin tissue. Moreover, sea buckthorn oil is applied in the
treatment of certain gastrointestinal disorders, exhibiting anti-inflammatory
effects, accelerating the healing processes of the digestive tract mucosa, and
supporting mucous layer renewal. The polyphenolic compounds present in all
parts of sea buckthorn account for its strong anti-pathogenic and prebiotic
properties in the intestinal environment. In the AntiOx+ Formula, sea buckthorn
fruit oil constitutes 55% of the blend.
Black
Currant Seed Oil (Ribes nigrum L.) 35%
Black currant seed oil, comprising a significant 35% of the
AntiOx+ Formula, deserves special attention. It is one of the richest known
sources of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), simultaneously abundant in omega-3 fatty
acids: alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and stearidonic acid (as one of the few plant
oils), rivaling fish oils in this aspect. Additionally, black currant seed oil
is among the richest in vitamin E among plant oils. It also contains
phytosterols, as well as the previously mentioned carotenoids, flavonoids, and
phenolic acids. Due to these factors, black currant seed oil is characterized
by exceptionally strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, utilized
to improve the condition of sensitive, dry, flaky skin that requires
comprehensive support. Its cosmetic effect on thin and sparse hair appears
particularly promising, with studies suggesting its beneficial impact on hair
loss inhibition and nourishment. Undoubtedly, black currant seed oil, given its
unique fatty acid composition and abundance of biologically active compounds,
should be regarded as an oil of particular significance for health.
Wild Rose
Seed Oil (Rosa canina L.) 10%
Wild rose seed oil constitutes 10% of the AntiOx+ Formula composition. The oil mainly consists of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids and valuable lipophilic antioxidants, especially γ- and δ-tocopherol, as well as carotenoids: β-carotene and lycopene, substances highly absorbable by the body. In Rutkowska et al.'s work, wild rose oil, alongside flaxseed oil, represented the richest source of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids. Furthermore, this oil exhibited the most favorable ratios of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids (similar to flaxseed oil). Wild rose seed oil stands out for its exceptionally rich content of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant polyphenolic compounds, making it an essential component of this composition.
